The Mazda Miata (A.K.A. Eunos Roadster, Mazda Roadster, Mazda MX-5, Girl car, Cute) is a roadster that is and has been produced by Mazda since 1990 over 4 and-a-half generations. It is widely known by car communities (more specifically Japanese car enthusiasts and Drifting fans). It is very small, light, and although it lacks some power, it's so agile it could probably navigate a duck vagina.
You may have heard "The answer is always Miata;" this euphemism means that whatever type of vehicle you want to build, whether that be race car, drifter, daily driver, off-road vehicle, drag racer, tank, or drag queen, the best starting vehicle is a (likely first-generation) Miata (provided you can stand fixing all the rust).

The original concept for the 1990 Miata (codenamed "NA") came from automotive designer Tom Matano who drew it on a napkin. He wanted a 60s-style roadster that was cheap (unlike the Fiat Spyder, the only other roadster of the time) and reliable.
His design won out against the other Mazda design, which was supposed to be similar to the Toyota MR2.
He also wanted it to be driven exclusively by women and gay guys, but nowadays only Gigachads drive it.
The Miata has approximately 2,300 limited/special editions over it's history, and counting. Most of which are just sponsored Itasha liveries.

Mechanical Stuff[edit | edit source]
The original Miata had a 1.6 litre displacement naturally-aspirated (asthmatic) engine and then it was upgraded to 1.8 litres (or liters ya fockin' yankee). The 1.6 produced the same power as 113 horses, which is funny considering how slow it is in a straight line. It produced max horsepower at 6500 RPM. It's fueled by petrol (or gasoline if you have to send your kids to school with bulletproof vests).
The engine is extremely lame, but it is really well suited to upgraded power, if you want to stick a big sucker in it.
It has always been a charming (and cute) combo: front engine, rear wheel drive. Popular with car enthusiasts then and now, the original NA Miata is the best selling sports car of all time. Like wow, Mazda hit the jackpot.
