I don't even know if this is how you respond to this sort of thing, but... Thanks for the message. I'd read most of the editing help things, but I'll try read the ones I haven't read.

Usually I do edit, but in quite a few articles for some reason they don't have the 'edit' option, so I figured they were locked or something, so just put in under the 'suggestion' bit in discussion pages.

No problem, and yes, you can reply here, though I'm about to go to bed soon! Ahh, yes, some of the pages are "Protected" from new users. They are normally the ones which get vandalised a lot... All you have to do is wait a few days (3 or 4 I think) and then you will be able to edit them. So long as you don't get banned in the meantime... Which I'm sure you will not.
