At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Tyranitar Man/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - construction - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! -- The Zombiebaron 23:39, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

Hey[edit source]
Thanks for your work on GUID. Nice to have someone else around who knows a little wiki-fu. Nominally Humane! 05:34 18 Jul

- One quick thing - common practice here is to stick your sig into a template and transclude it onto a page, rather than subst'ing it. If you set your preferences up as "Custom Signature"

and tick the "I want to use wikitext in my signature". Just means that your sig code is a little neater when viewed in edit mode. ({{User:Tyranitar Man/sig))
instead of<font color="339933">Tyranitar Man</font> · <font color="0000ff">talk</font> · <font color="ff0000">contributions</font>

Thinking about something based on what you're doing[edit source]
A random number generator that creates a numeral from 0 to 9. Use this four times successively you end up with a random number between 0 (0000) and 9999. Divide this by 10,000 and you have 0 to less than 1. Multiply that by your number base, add one, and then round down, and you have 0 to your number base. Have a select based upon this value and you have a template that you can say "give me a random digit on x number base" and you have one template that covers multiple number bases, with a good randomisation. It's a fiddle to set up. What do you think? Nominally Humane! 02:03 21 Jul
