- Both. My mother is an ex-Israeli Jew (she was born in Haifa, raised with Hebrew as her native language but has now renounced Israeli citizenship) and my father is a Palestinian from Nablus -when they married, they essentially had the Arabs on one side, the Jews on the other, and a UN peace-keeping force in the middle. I was therefore raised to speak both languagues because otherwise, one half of the family will definitely sever all contact forthwith. Not that there's anything else to do in Nablus and Ramallah besides phoning relatives in London, you understand. I don't claim fluency, but I do speak both well enough to watch al-Jazeera when the BBC is being more censorious than usual, and know that Sacha Baron Cohen speaks Hebrew throughout Borat, not any of the native languages of Kazakhstan.SufiyaFatimaLevi 16:18, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

- Of course you laughed evilly (subliminally, of course, behind the otherwise generous Arabic message you wrote:)). How else are we Middle Easterners supposed to communicate? More importantly, how is anyone with the name Fredd the Mahmauscher supposed to communicate? Surely you have had the 'Oh you're Arab why are your people so angry all the time?' confrontation with the highly knowledgeable general public. (I just reply 'um...the fact that's it's really difficult to divide fourteen knishes among thirty people while you're supposed to be listening to the sermon in synagogue? I don't know...Jewish here...so be careful what you say, anti-Semite!)
- Speaking of which, you are stuck in the worst possible scenario. The Jews consider you to be Jewish and the Muslims consider you to be Muslim. Also, Sasha Baron Cohen's accent is attrocious in Hebrew. But it's probably better than Adam Sandler's one in The Zohan. ~

- Oh well, could be worse -at least it's not the other way round, with my mother being the Palestinian Muslim and my father being the Israeli Jew. Now I only have to live with a split personality, instead of full-blown existential angst (+the Molotov fruit-juice cocktails left over from my parents' wedding). The page you found, the ban page, has one name set up with a code {{USERNAME}} that shows the user name (<insert name here>) of the person looking at it. When I look at it it will say my name. This is one of the inside jokes of uncy, you got caught in it, and reacted accordingly. So don't take it personally, because it wasn't. Now who knows, you may be a good user and a good writer, you surely are studying hard. Once again, it was not about you, but people will get a chuckle out of your reaction---and you should too.
