Welcome![edit source]

Hello, NeveroddoreveN, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:NeveroddoreveN/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! --Sycamore (Talk) 11:52, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

No worries[edit source]

Everything you did was just fine. The only thing I would change next time is that when you're starting a new conversation, you can put a header above it like I've done above, and end your post with a ~~~~ instead of just typing out your username. All else is fine. And I'd be glad to adopt you if you haven't been since the time you left your message on my page. Go ahead and respond here and we'll get everything all sorted out and what not. -RAHB 03:14, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Your Adopthood Begins[edit source]

Okay. Provided Uncyc remains functional long enough for me to post this, here is your Uncyclopedia freshman orientation. Now, first of all, why don't you do something not so difficult to begin with, such as creating a user page. I've got a nice little template for you to put on it too:

Which you can put on your page by copy pasting the code {{Adoptee|RAHB}} onto there. And then just go nuts, as your userpage is your own little "do whatever the hell you want" zone. It's a nice feeling. I've written tons of things about penises and world domination on mine, and nobody thinks twice. Anyways, on to more serious stuffs.

If you're thinking of getting into article writing, I recommend reading some of the links in the welcome message at the top of this page. I don't know what your writing background is, but whether you're experienced, or haven't written a thing in your life (the latter describing myself when I arrived here two years ago), it's a tolerable enough process to learn to pick up the Uncyc writing style, and to develop a style of your own. If you'd like to do some site maintenance and help outs and what not, this link has some detailed information on what you can do to help out. The Village Dump is our local forum, full of all sorts of zaniness and tomfoolery, as well as a useful place to ask questions and get help. If you've got an IRC client, you can join us in the uncyc chatroom, which is equally as zany at twice the speed. I'm in there a lot, as are a lot of experienced users, so if you need help or just want to shoot the shit, drop on in.

Now my talk page speech. Just to keep everything clear, here's how talk pages usually work. I'm actually disobeying all of the unwritten rules I'm about to tell you about, but that's only because you don't know them yet. So, as you've noticed, individual conversations are kept separate by their headers. When you leave a talk page message on someone's page, they will usually respond where you left it, so stay aware and check back every now and then. If someone leaves a talk page message on your talk page, you can simply respond to them in the same spot, and assume they will come back to read your response (unless of course they're new, at which time you can feel free to inform them of the standards and practices).

And I think that's about it. Any time you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask me. As I said, your best bet is to check the IRC chatroom and see if I'm in there. If not, you can leave me a talk message, talk to someone else in IRC (perhaps one of the active admins), leave one of the previously mentioned admins a talk message, or seek assistance from the "Help" category in the Village Dump. If you'd like help on an article, I can definitely help you there as well, and also give you comedic advice, where asked for. Okay. That's it then for now I believe. Hope this all was a nice, not too verbose introduction. They let me off my meds again, and I just can't get enough of the sound the keyboard makes when I type on it. -RAHB 16:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
