At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Blind Pugh/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 07:38, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
The Black Spot[edit source]
Thanks for your recent adds to a few of the articles I have worked on. I didn't revert any as I liked them. Pugh or Pew? --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:07, July 19, 2011 (UTC)
Zepellin[edit source]
Is the misspelling deliberate or an error? Also, if you want reply to my query, carry on the conversation here rather than my talk page. That way we can keep a discussion in one place rather than spread between two. That is the common practice here.--RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:33, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Certainly not deliberate- can't believe I made such a stupid mistake. I can change the spelling throughout the article, but don't know how to change the article name- plz can you help? Thanks! While we're chatting, I notice the many minor revisions I made to the 'France' article have been reverted. It seems to be one of those instances where someone feels they 'own' an article, and won't even tolerate a spelling correction. Any advice??Blind Pugh 06:42, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
- Article name change is done by an admin. Suggest Lyrithya or Socky. However, if you notice there is a 'Maintenance Tag' at the bottom which means that someone else thinks the article is either random or not making much sense. I had a look and though you are running with a Richard Branson joke it doesn't tie in with the rest of the story. You can ask an admin to move it to your user space at the same time as you ask for a name change. Regards the France article, the reason your edits were reverted is because it was a featured article (see the green mark in the top left corner). A featured article can only be edited to a very limited extent for punctuation or spelling errors that were missed before. Also if it's a biographical work when someone has since died it can be changed but only if an admin is asked. If the original or main author is no longer around, that is the only way it can be done. Don't worry, I have made that error myself before. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:02, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Romartus, I hadn't noticed the 'Featured Article' tag. I must say that although your criticism of the Branson theme in the Zeppelin article is both welcome and valid, given the utter nonsense cheerfully included in the majority of articles, I'm puzzled that you would think it inappropriate. I was delighted to stumble upon Uncyclopedia, but honestly, many of the articles are almost unreadable, other than by 10 year-olds! I'll have a go at reworking Zeppelin and you can see what you think.Blind Pugh 11:39, July 27, 2011 (UTC) OK now I'm really depressed, just realized an article exists called Zeppelins and it's quite funny. Think I'll try and insert parts of mine into it and see if I get shot down in flames.Blind Pugh 11:49, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
- I checked the existing Zeppelins article, the main writer hasn't been here since 2007. Looks a bit crap to me so your additions may be ok. When I re-edit an existing article like that, I try and see if it has a central theme and then try and improve or tidy it up. I did this to the The Brothers Karamazov where the original idea was to link William Shatner's performance in this play and his subsequent work in Star Trek. I extended some ideas and tidied it up - though I also had to do some research on the book as well (oddly, working here extends your reading). I would rate it as now ok rather good. I also did something similar to Marie Antoinette. In both cases I checked the history of the article to see if the user was active. They weren't. Perhaps I should formerly adopt you so that if you run into another user and get a ban, I can check up what's happened. The admins here do take the attitude that everyone who comes here could be a potential vandal/troll/disruptive so it is best to be positive and work to improve on articles. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 12:11, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Romanus, or perhaps you might prefer Pax Romanus. Please adopt me by all means, it sounds fabulously comforting. I will do as you suggest and incorporate some of my efforts into the existing Zep article soon. Rest assured I have no intention of causing trouble and am keen to be helpful, so any criticism will be taken seriously.Blind Pugh 16:40, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
- Added the tag to your page and mine. If you have any questions (except anything technical - I have no idea) ask me. I am sure you aren't here for trouble. I will keep an eye on the Zeppelins article too. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 16:57, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
PS You asked me if it is Pugh or Pew- Blind Pugh was, I believe, a character in Treasure Island, but I'm relying on a memory from about 35 years ago and haven't asked Google for confirmation!Blind Pugh 20:17, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
- He was, he got the Black Spot but name was spelt Pew. No matter. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 13:17, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Are You Still With Us?[edit source]
How is it going BP? Did you receive the Black Spot?? --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 06:29, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
Greetings Romartus. I have now been treated for both Black Spot and Leaf Droop and am feeling much better. I'm going to see if I'm allowed to make a few changes to the Sweden entry, which seems to me utterly unamusing, except for the Python material at bottom- and the reason for that is obvious!Blind Pugh 08:10, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
OK I'm not even going to try, as I see the Language section, which is what interested me, is being guarded by Madmax, who removed my Education For The Deaf article. I'm telling you Romartus, if the guy thinks Sweden's Language entry is funny, I despair.Blind Pugh 08:18, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
