The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is the comically underfunded and small group of meteorologists who track hurricanes in the Northern Atlantic and Eastern Pacific. They're so poor that they only have four desks in their base in Miami, Florida, making it a struggle as the ten men and one woman working there have to be cramped inside their chairs every time a disturbance forms. As a result, they're often depressed in active seasons such as 2020 and 2005 in the Atlantic as well as 1992 and 2018 in the Pacific.
