With the great success of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and the 64 of movies released on them, the world wanted more Dragon Ball. As doing anything in the future timeline would result in a dead Goku, Gohan mentoring at a university, Pan getting constantly swooned by Master Roshi; and with prequels not in the best of light at the time, the creators of Dragon Ball decided to try something different. Enter Dragon Ball Monopoly.

Premise[edit | edit source]

Dragon Ball Monopoly occurs on a whole different time frame than other Dragon Ball series. All characters are basically involved, revolving around a massive game of Monopoly taking place at Kame House.

The year is 766 A.D., and the known universe is at peace. Krillin decides he wants to hold a Monopoly tournament, but can't locate the Monopoly board that Master Roshi owns. With Master Roshi watching pornography on television with Oolong and Chaotzu, Krillin grabs the Dragon Balls and wishes to conduct a massive Monopoly tournament. Although he gets his wish and gets the board, the wish results in all major Dragon Ball characters appearing at Kame House to participate in the tournament.

Although the plot idea is essentially Dragon Ball, some viewers consider it to be non-canon as it cannot be placed in the normal timeline. Many arguments have been made to prove that Dragon Ball Monopoly is canon, mostly by the statement, "lol freezer's in it".

Sagas[edit | edit source]

Like all other Dragon Ball series, the Dragon Ball Monopoly series is separated into different arcs.

  • The Railroad Saga
  • The St. Charles Place Saga
  • The Free Parking Saga
  • The Chance/Community Chest Saga
  • The Auction Saga
  • The Jail Saga
  • The Boardwalk Saga
  • The Finale Saga

Although the series was a success, no movies were created for it. Two movies were thought of before the Boardwalk Saga called The Luxury Tax Saga and the GO Saga. A preliminary script for the GO Saga was leaked, but, despite great support by the Dragon Ball community, it was cancelled.

The Railroad Saga[edit | edit source]

FUCK YOU KAKAROT! I have Reading Railroad! Now give me the damn $25!

The series begins with the Railroad Saga. Initially, it begins just as the premise states, with most of the main characters from the Dragon Ball series taking part in a large Monopoly tournament. Unlike a standard Monopoly board, however, this special one made by the Great Dragon allows many players to play.

The players roll their dice to determine who goes when. When Raditz and Pan keep rolling the same number, a minor skirmish occurs. Rather than keep rolling, Raditz fires a burst of energy at Pan, throwing her into Roshi's television and interrupting his pornographic video. Although Raditz seems to have the upper hand, Pan, much to everybody's surprise, goes Super Saiyan and blasts Raditz out of the house. With him going last nonetheless, the tournament begins as Raditz flies back in his 3 episode return in an attempt to make it back before his turn.

Android 17 is the first player, and he lands on Income Tax. Claiming that he always lands on it, despite implementing a dice rolling program in his hands, he goes to blow up the board but is stopped promptly by Android 18. When Krillin sees Android 18 touching Android 17's hand, he instantly becomes jealous, hops on the table and blasts Android 17's face. For a whole episode, Android 17 and Krillin stand aside staring each other down while charging up. The competition ends when Android 18 gives up, walks over, and threatens to make Krillin change Marron's diaper. He gives up and the game continues.

Mr. Popo rolls next, and he lands on Reading Railroad. Unwilling to give up his money, he calls for an auction, causing everybody to sigh, Trunks, as the banker, resides. Although the property only costs $250, the auction reaches into the thousands of dollars as Future Trunks, Vegeta, Android 18, Goku and Freeza fight over it. Once it reaches $8000, Nappa and Vegeta join forces to purchase it, but once Freeza bids $9000, Vegeta freaks out and breaks his scouter. Nappa and Vegeta make a plan to grab an extra dollar. Nappa walks over to Videl and pulls up her shirt, grabbing the attention of everybody, especially Master Roshi, and Gohan bitch-slaps the hell out of Nappa. Vegeta takes the opportunity to grab an extra dollar out of Freeza's bank and makes the new bid once everything calms down 2 episodes later. With a bid of $9001, Vegeta and Nappa own Reading Railroad. Happy with their new acquisition, Vegeta takes Nappa outside for a 'smoke break', but ends up killing him and taking his money.
