| Humour: | 3 | not going to do average: it's too short. Here's the deal: It's one joke. Meh, I say. I know the joke is "Hey! Looky! I'm making Madonna look teh smarts, but she ain't!" We all get it after a few paragraphs. I don't know if there's anything you can do, here. I guess I'll explain my scoring for now: A 7 is an average article (hard to define). I take points away for lacking substance, style, or funny. There's substance, albeit fake substance, in there. But it's really difficult to make "fake substance" funny. And in that sense, uh, I guess this really is just a bunch of buzz words. Anything below a 4 and there's more to the score than just taking points away for lacking things: I take points away for randomness, incoherent rambling, that kind of thing. I don't like giving low scores, but I just have to assume that you don't mind. It can be explained more in the Concept score. |
| Concept: | 3 | Like I said, this is just one long rambling joke following the line: "Hey! Looky! I'm making Madonna look teh smarts, but she ain't!" It's got a lot of meaningless wordage in there that my eyes just glazed over. Really, there's only one joke in this entire thing. I don't dislike Madonna, in case you care (you don't).
I can't really think of what concept could work here, mostly because I don't know much about Madonna... Is her search for meaning something about being like a virgin? I really don't understand. |

| Final Score: | 22.5 | Well, the score mostly reflects the length of the article, not that making the same joke you have longer would help. You're an okay writer, obviously, but you can't just have one joke for that long. Seeing "modernism" four hundred times in a row wasn't good for my eyeballs. I know the score's not very high, but I bet if you put your writing ability into some other concept it would pay off. |
