Manchester, NH - On the eve of what is perhaps the most important presidential primary election this nation has ever faced, a senior unnamed Romney official is reporting that Mitt Romney has agreed to accept the 2nd seat on Mrs. Clinton's election ticket, if she were to win the Democratic party's nomination this summer.
Romney's campaign spokesman, George Schmidtlein IV, responded on Fox News this evening. "That is incorrect. As he has said from the beginning of this campaign, Mitt Romney is dedicated to change, and we need a candidate for change. Some candidates talk about change, while others just talk about change. Mitt, like Hillary, is about change. So, clearly, this statement is incorrect."
While clearly this bombshell allegation is just that, one cannot help but notice the potential such a presidential team generates.
More details are expected tomorrow. Mitt Romney has scheduled a press conference for 9:07 p.m. Eastern, with a heads-up topic of "change." Interestingly, Mrs. Clinton is not sharing her calendar details from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., leading some to speculate that this will be a joint press conference between the two candidates.
