WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Barack Obama said that he's aiming for tens of millions of girls in schools throughout the world. Obama's predecessor, ex-President Bill Clinton, "was known for his outreach to American schoolgirls," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest. "Obama is reaching out to touch girls throughout the world."
While the president lives with his wife and "two fabulous, extraordinary, awesome young women," he wants to help more young women be extraordinary. The president wants to see that "no girl out there is denied her chance to be a strong, capable woman" with the relief of his helping hands.
"We're making it clear to any country that's our partner or wants to be our partner that they need to get serious about increasing the number of girls" that Obama can partner with, to teach them their lessons and help them deeply with his meaty program. Earnest said, "American presidents from Andrew Johnson to Franklin Delano Roosevelt to John "Jack" Kennedy to...that other Johnson, L.B.J., were known for reaching out to other partners and for touching young American females' lives. But Obama doesn't want to be stopped by borders or barriers; he wants to touch girls thoroughly and everywhere."
Mrs. Obama, who could use some relief from her exhausting schedule, supports her husband's relief plan. She wants American coeds to be inspired by her husband's efforts with foreign girls. "I want our young people to be awed by these girls, but more importantly I want them to be inspired and motivated by these girls," Mrs. Obama said.
Republican leaders were skeptical of the president's plan. "Does Obama really think he can handle tens of millions of girls? He would need a real Boehner to do that."
"The president wants to touch females everywhere," said Earnest, "and he's fully capable of doing it. Mrs. Obama supports his plan, and is looking forward to watching him do it."
