UnNews:Evans to force Oldham to sign him
Monday, January 5, 2015
Ched Evans, the professional footballer convicted of rape, is set to force Oldham Athletic to sign him.
Evans, 26, admitted that he has been "going through a dry patch lately" since being released from prison after raping a 19-year-old, but claimed that Oldham Athletic were "absolutely gagging for it".
"They were giving me all the tell-tale signs," said the former Sheffield United player, "Vague interest - playing it cool, like they always do - all the normal winks and come-ons."
Oldham denied consenting to the deal however. "We were initially attracted to the idea of getting Ched on board, but a lot of people around us told us he is trouble," said chairman Bob Layman, after receiving a petition from 20,000 fans.
"We told him we might have to pull out of the deal and he said 'Pull out? I am the one who decides to pull out or not.'."
