8=D Ah, oh, you actually don't get it and there's a process by which articles get on the site? Sounds perfectly reasonable, let me proceed to explain why this is not just funny, but the crowning achievement of Human Thought in the 21st century! 🍆🍆 (woah, down boy) There's a philosophy called Accelerationism and in 2013 they put forth the Manifesto for an Accelerationist Politics and so the "Decelerationist" manifesto is an act of Guerilla Ontology that flips that on its head. Their stance is basically "more", more everything, just keep going yeah yeah baby SPEED, Nick Land, line go up! They believe to get less of a thing, you just keep adding more of it, and uh, somehow, it'll uh, go away??? Cause there's more, now, and ppl fed into it. Great logic.
Decelerationism on the other hand just says "Stop." and you see how powerful that is. It evokes a strong reaction, people don't know what to do with it. It baffles their mind. They're used to "Go!" all the time, never "Stop." Clearly, when they see, "Stop." something must be wrong, there must be some error, deleat this. And that means I'm doing my job. By adding additional commentary and context, it misses the first, and only instruction of the entire Manifesto. You think it needs to be expanded upon, but if you pay careful attention to the message, you'll see (UC Berkeley), that that goes against the very spirit of the thing.
Now, I'm planning on adding a Decelerationism page, with sections like "Commentaries" and "Controversy" and in time this might get merged over to it, but I think it's funnier if it stays on its own, untouched. I'll construction it, "contemplate" adding a template, but I think this stands on its own. Gutenburg if you hear me. Thank you. The defense rests (who wants sammies?)
