Talk:Australian-English Dictionary
gidday[edit source]
Writing as an Australian, I think this article is stuck in a bit of a 'Bazza MacKenzie/yobbo' timewarp. Of course, that might be the intention... oops. The Australia page is better.
Perhaps it might be helpful to have a look at http://www.kathandkim.com/ for current suburban slang. Funnily enough, the home page features a photo of the author of Bazza Mackenzie with Kath and Kim. neca 02:30, 4 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- I moved from Melbourne to London in 2002 so the Bazza/Prawn stuff catches my attention. This might also do with a merge with Strine language. I dunno. I worked very hard on the phonetics - David Gerard 00:56, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC)
!!!PROOF it's being done by a fucking pom!
righteo - it's your page - sorry. But can I make one (timid) suggestion? I reckon 'tormes' etc would be better spelt 'toimes' -neca 01:05, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- heh :-) I couldn't work out a better way to represent the accent so flat it turns diphthongs into single vowels ... - David Gerard 13:26, 18 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Why no mention of other annoying phrases like, true blue, fair dinkum, umm wait no thats prolly it.144.139.183.205 15:06, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

It's...not funny...[edit source]
Gah. I was hoping for something hilarious but it's not even that funny. Sorry. Just, y'know, it mostly doesn't make sense...and you missed your opportunity to incorporate multiculturalism into it. This should is more of a...bogan dictionary, though even their vocabulary is a little more extensive. So it's not that offensive and it's not that funny.
- Are you joking?! It's great! 137.147.204.114 (talk) 08:40, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
