- It desperately needs pictures and jokes. Pictures could work very well, provided they are done right. As it's written now, it isn't so much a parody of 2001 as an article about 2001, if you catch my meaning. Take the introduction for instance:
“ | '2001: A Space Odyssey' was often known to be one of the most interesting, talkative, and provocative movie of all time. It was most known for its poor translation into several languages due to the ever increasing dialouge in the movie. In the year it was released it had won many Emmies, Golden Globes and various film festival awards for its interesting look into our future. | ” |
- That reads, basically, like a factual article. To someone who's never seen the movie they'd have no way of knowing it was meant to be a humorous take on the article. Basically the article needs an 'angle', an overarching joke about the movie that ties the whole article together and makes it funny. Something I just thought of that sucks, but is in example, is a joke on the phallic nature of the spaceship. YOu can apply that to a lot of things in the movie and then do like a Freaudian psycho-analysis of Kubrick and the film. Or something like that. As it is now the article just seems like a bunch of random jokes pasted together (Dave Chappelle, daredevil, etc.) I like the take on HAL though. I think that's funny. Oh well, those are my thoughts. --Sir ENeGMA (talk) GUN WotM PLS 19:23, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, this looks pretty good, my only desire is to see more on the random trippy section (cos it blatantly has some deep symbolic purpose to it...) if only because when the film came out loads of underground magazines published advice on when in the movie you should take acid in order for it to hit you in time with all the psychadelia; that's always given me some funny images of people on a bad trip running out of cinemas screming that a giant eye was changing the colour of the world by blinking. --Jamtrousers 19:32, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
