LMMS is a free and open-source program mostly used by Linux nerds and Geometry Dash kids that want to make dubstep (not to be confused with pirates. These are too afraid to pirate FL Studio, which is why do they use this awful copy). It has 18 bad plugins and 3 good ones. Some demos also come with it, but they're very distorted and bad. It also has this thing named Beat/Bassline, but everybody hates and nobody uses it.

LMMS before stood for Linux MultiMedia Studio (it wasn't multimedia, since it could only make audio), but now it stands for Look, My Music Sucks.

0.x.x versions[edit | edit source]

This program was started in 2005 by its creator, TobyDox. TobyDox later moved on from this program, as it was (and still is) an unholy mess that nobody liked. From version 0.0.1 to 0.3.0 almost nothing happened. Version 0.3.0 changed something, added some buggy plugins, fixed some bugs and added some more. 0.4.0 is the version that added the biggest amount of bugs until 1.2.0. It got 10 15 maintenance updates in order to add more bugs.

1.x.x versions[edit | edit source]

Version 1.0.0 was released in 2014. There were 3 maintenance versions that added some translations and just a little bit of bugs. The LMMS users were disappointed by the small amount of bugs that were added in the new version, and TobyDox was forced to hand over the leadership to tresf. After a few release candidates, 1.1.0 was released. It wasn't a very remarkable update, as it added a very small amount of bugs. It got just 2 maintenance updates. After 1.1.0, the leadership was given to umcaruje, who quickly transferred it to PhysSong. The new leader released 8 release candidates, and then 1.2.0, which holds the record for the most bugs released in a new version of LMMS. The users were very happy with over 5 pages of documenting all the new bugs. 1.3.0 is currently in the alpha stage and is actively being filled with new bugs by the unpaid volunteering developers.

Best of LMMS[edit | edit source]

Best of LMMS (often abbreviated as BoL) is a yearly competition where people are competing to make the best song in LMMS. It is known for its judges, who are very lazy, and often take 5 weeks to rate a single song. There have been 9 Best of LMMS competitions so far. The winners of those competitions are mostly forgotten, because all the songs are bad and nobody wants to listen to them.
