Forum:Vote: Front page article name
Hotadmin recently changed some things back on the front page, meaning we can't identify the name of the featured article, until or unless it comes up somewhere in bold.
- On our featured page at the time of writing - Will Harridge - this is not a problem, because his name forms the first words in the article. This is normally the case on Wikipedia too, and so I can see it makes sense there..
- On the last featured article, Cereal, however, it was weird, because there were about 50 hyperlinks before the article title actually came up.
- On other featured articles, such as HowTos, UnNewses, Unscripts, etc, the name of the article might not come up anywhere on the front page, and I think it's a big ask of the reader to plough into an article, or a step by step, or a script, without knowing what the fuck it's about.
I like Hotadmin a lot and recognise the work he does around here, and I don't want to set one admin off against the other. What I propose is that we vote one way or the other, and that we go with the majority. --Leverage (talk) 10:36, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hey wait a minute, en.uncyclopedia.co/w/index.php?title=Main_Page&curid=705567&diff=5762983&oldid=5762618 (no link due to some abuse filter) has nothing to do with this forum. Seriously?
I'd revert your revert and revert the actual correct issue of contention which is on some template but I'm just an IP address.never mind, you fixed it. thank you. Yay and stuff now I have to go do real life bye! *falls asleep on the keyboard* 99.240.156.249 22:38, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
Votes to have a front page with the featured article's title
(the other uncyc page has it like this, see their front page if you have no idea what I am talking about)
- For. Simply because I think it gives the reader a chance to understand what it's all about from the get-go. Leverage (talk) 10:16, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
- For. A rose by any other name is still a rose, but it doesn't smell as sweet (Leverage has the right idea methinks). Aleister 10:36 24-5-14

- The title was unilaterally removed with no consensus or discussion and it seems to be clearly necessary, so of course. – Llwy-ar-lawr (talk • contribs • logs) 16:29, 24 May 2014
Votes to have a front page without the featured article's title
(this is how we currently have it, and how Wikipedia has it)
Big thanks to Hotadmin - I thought we could wait a few more days for more people to vote, but I really appreciate the mutual respect on this page. It's the difference between this wiki and others! Leverage (talk) 09:00, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
