I am making an Uncyclopedia style browser, for no reason at all.

Incomplete. Feel free to give suggestions or whatever.

Lets see, ah yes,
  • auto generated Oscar Wilde quotes in every page
  • the back button takes you to a random ebony site
  • Every pop up has only the dialog AAAAAAAA! and a With Savings button to close
  • Forum posts or HTML text fields are littered with profanity and yo momma jokes when pressing submit.
  • Every Google query is supplemented on submit with +Britney +spears +teen +amateur
  • all ad blocks do not block ads but simply replace them with identical sized Free iPod banners
  • and of course all the links clicked to wikipedia must redirect automatically to a random page on uncyc.
I'm sure there a loads of other nessesairy features to be added. I feel this could be the next big browser in the browser wars. --Vosnul 09:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
In the event that happens, I think the browser will be totally useless. (also btw Uncyclopedia is the browser's homepage. You can't change it xD)
By the way, the browser has it's own custom agent. I can't be bothered to start up my other development PC (which has UC browse on it) so when I can be bothered I'll tell you guys :)
Oh and detection of Wikipedia links? Sorry, but I'd rather have a browser thats resizable rather than fully programmable (I'm using a practically locked down development tool for this browser...) --anger2headshot 10:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Ow, and I forgot, you should only be able to type in ALL CAPS.. --Vosnul 19:12, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Just out of curiousity, what HTML parsing engine? ----OEJ 14:27, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

If this doesn't work on Linux or isn't open-source, I'm not using it. --Sir Starnestommy Icons-flag-us.png (TalkContribsCUNCapt.) 20:47, August 18, 2007
The quality of the whole application based on that screenshot suggests VisualBASIC, which basically means it's a refit of Trident onto another application. It seems hard to differentiate Gecko from Trident on the main page because their font renderings are nearly the same (that means the web developers are doing their job). Presto is easily recognizable. --~ Tophatsig.png 18/08/2007 @ 21:38
Actually, that does look like Trident. Excuse me while I vomit. --Sir Starnestommy Icons-flag-us.png (TalkContribsCUNCapt.) 21:49, August 18, 2007
How about all the error messages are Russian Reversals? And if you press print it just prints the words "HATE HATE HAT" over and over. -- unreliable Ape (suffocate) (Riot Porn) 21:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Eh, it's BrowserBob... also still can't be bothered to get the user agent... and yes BrowserBob is powered by Trident (I have IE7)... If anyone wants me to remake this in Game Maker (I know... sounds stupid, but I can use DLLs to achive that, I'm serious), feel free to ask. You get more features at the cost of being unable to resize the window. Also btw I use FF default. Ironic? Dunno. --anger2headshot 04:34, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Why not make a FF xul scheme then ? This browserbob thing look pretty useless. It does not even seem to have skill enhancing qualities that could have merit in other fields of development. Learning xul could be usefull this is not. --Vosnul 09:24, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

It goes without saying you'd need novelty taskbar buttons to go with all of that:

  • "History" would be a disco ball
  • "Home" would be a cardboard box
  • "Stop" would say "Yield to Ped Xing"
  • "Back" would be accompanied by a shrill woman's voice telling you to "just pull over and get directions, Harold."
  • There should also be several buttons - a CD, a rubber duck, a large question mark, a bull's eye, etc. - that look important but do nothing when pushed.

How about one of the buttons just makes the browser crash and then when it loads up all the text is replaced by AAAAAA! -- unreliable Ape (suffocate) (Riot Porn) 19:20, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes! And make that button randomized, so that it's a different one after each crash, like Russian Roulette! -Tritefantastic 02:59, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
