The "Things to do" link was useful to redirect people who didn't want to write whole articles to articles they could contribute to salvage. I know we can just type it in the search box but n00bs sure will not know that, and it is pretty useful to newbies who want to help while still learning the ropes, I know it was useful for me to learn formatting basics. It's also a nice break from neuron-frying writing to go help out a poor article in need with pics, proofreading or formatting. Gif totally unrelated. Talk Mattsnow 08:10, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

That's called the 'community portal'. I didn't believe it either, but then I looked, and that's precisely what the community portal is - things to do around the site. Perhaps what we really need is some better labelling... and possibly less random other stuff cluttering it up, since it's harder to notice things in a pile of things. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 12:25, 23 June 2011
