Should we here at Uncyc have "Trustees" like wikimedia or Folsom prison? Might just be cool to have some banner on every page and have a fake election. So what do you guys think? --Jsonitsacsig.jpg jsonitsac talk to me crimes against humanity01:34, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

A fake election? What are you insinuating? FreeMorpheme 02:09, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, should we have actual admins like Chronarion and Stillwaters do it? Or a ficticious one with fake things like Oscar Wilde and Sophia? Or even one with BENSON? Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 04:26, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

If we were to have a fake election, the servers would need to be in Florida and operated by someone named Chad, I suppose. As for who runs, before asking that one must raise the question of what these trustees are even supposed to do. While WP has them as part of their Uncyclomedia Foundation parody, the purpose of their version of a foundation appear to be to operate an entity that pwns the domain names, trademarks and logos for the project and to have that entity appear as a non-profit for the purposes of begging for money. It's not just that the idea of a US-based for-profit concern controlling all of the world's encyclopædias apparently didn't sit well with the group that left es.wikipedia to set up the Encyclopædia Libre at the University of Seville, Spain. Tax-deductability of donations is an issue for the various Wikipedias (the situation varies widely from one country to another, given their structure) and an incorporated non-profit entity needs to be structured a certain official way.

What would the Trustees tasks be in an Uncyclomedia Foundation? We're not claiming to be a charity, although the goal of getting a full set of Uncyclopædias into every school in the nation would be a laudable one were we to pursue it. Would Chronarion and Stillwaters be of any use, given that one has sold out (presumably with the intention of drastically curtailing involvement here to something between once-in-a-blue-moon and nada) and the other has left the project entirely? At that rate, nominating dead people or potatoes for the Bored of Trustees positions makes about as much sense. We don't have the assets or the ability to attract donations that WP has in any case.

As for BENSON? I'd expect he has his hands full already operating the San Antonio Saints franchise, and furthermore the governor is seeking his immediate attention. One can only do so much. --Carlb 05:10, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
