<s>text</s>, a la text. Voila! Other handy texty-editing info is here.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 04:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

You can also use this fancy way of making text dissappear so that people will not see it. While people cannot see you're text you can do all sorts of fancy things, like this and that. --Sir Zombiebaron 01:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

i particularly like <code>insert text here</code> which i use

to indent long quotations or simply a run-on sentence that goes on and on for ever, without any sign of stopping (or running out of breath for that matter), eschewing the use of punctuations like periods, exclamation marks or question marks - helpful for terminating sentences, or phrases - till the very end.

<pre>insert text here</pre> is another useful tool that can be used to highlight text

while <s>allowing you to embed [[links]] and use other nifty wiki markup tricks in conjunction with it</s> but will stretch your page horizontally, the length of the earth's equator, if you happen to embed a particularly long run-on sentence in it; also note that "pre" can be invoked by just leaving a space from the left margin when you type (see my signature below for an example).
