As discussed on the Ænig sprekors of Eald Ænglisc topic, an idea that there should be an Eald Ænglisc babel template in Eald Ænglisc. The problem is, however, that all babel templates follow a default style, which means that they are all in Modern English.

Obviously, this topic is a proposal to change the babel template to a different format, so Newspeak, Français, Latina and others can be in their own languages.

This shouldn't be too difficult to change the babel templates on the userpages, as any users who are serious up-to-date or care about Uncyc will know to change their templates.

So, woduya think? ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 17:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Also as mentioned on Ænig sprekors of Eald Ænglisc I'm not very up-to-date on Uncyc, but I think your proposal deserves consideration if it can be done. I vote For, just in case we're voting here. Anyways, with regard to Eald Ænglisc, I think it would be best to create a seperate template for each language level, much as they've done with Oscar Wilde and Yiddish. I imagine this would be an arduous task to alter the other languages, considering there are so many, not to mention we already have a system Users are familiar with, but for Eald Ænglisc, it'd be fine. --Señor DiZtheGreat Honor me! CUN AOTM ( Worship me!) As this is primarily an English language wikia, the babel boxes were designed specifically in English (which makes them easier to generate). After all, we only wish to parody the ones Wikipedia has (Wikipedia:WP:BBL). Also: any language in Babel: that gets a sufficient number of pages can move offsite to its own sisterproject and have their own templates. --Splaka 22:28, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

You make a valid point. But it should also be noted that certain languages are worth stoning parodying on the English wikipedia. Eald Ænglisc would be one, as would American English, Correct English, basically all the Englishes that most English-speakers would find funny. --Señor DiZtheGreat Honor me! CUN AOTM ( Worship me!)
