A lot of you may have noticed that VFD has been flooded with stalemated, week-old noms recently. Now, the general rule for VFD is that if it's +5 towards Delete, then it's gone. So, if there's 5 keep votes, why don't we close the nom? Usually, people assume it's going to be kept if it's a draw, as there's virtually no way an article's going to be deleted if it's a 5:5 tie. So why let it rot on VFD for a week?

This is just an idea, i'd like your opinions/suggestions on it. Also, I needed an excuse to whine about VFD. WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Saberwolf116 22:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Sounds good to me, though I rarely frequent VFD so I really won't know. Just sayin'. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 22:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Um, I think that's the general idea. The admins leave it on for a while so people can vote and when it's clear it's somewhat of a draw, an admin that happens to pass by can close the nom. After, that a poopsmith eventually comes along and cleans up the dirt. The main problem is, a tied nom will stay on VFD for weeks with no activity, filling up the queue. My idea is that 5 keep votes is an automatic keep. Saberwolf116 23:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
If a page is stalemated for a while, I keep it, but I try to wait until everybody gets a chance. Speeding up a system that isn't full by lowering the standards sounds daft. Instead, why not vote there often, and encourage others, often, to do the same, also often? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:59, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Because after there's 5 keep votes, their votes are essentially meaningless, as it's inevitable that the article will be kept. Also, there's only about 6-7 regular VFD users, hence the nominations having no activity. Saberwolf116 00:56, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

From now on, every time that someones talk about VFD

I'm going to say ED. And we all know what happens after that. ~Jewriken.GIF 06:46, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Uhhhh. You lost me. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 07:18, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Damn it! Play along! ~Jewriken.GIF 07:19, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm going to post this pic everytime I see ED mentioned in the forums. It's a nice pic of my Pa'. *sniff*, I miss Pa'. Went out for smokes and never came back, he did. Plus, since headers don't appear to be length-limited, I can just ramble on about whatever comes to mind. Which is nice. The rambling, I mean...
This is ED. Good ol' ED.
Happy now? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 07:27, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
No, but then again, I never am. ~Jewriken.GIF 07:30, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Have you considered streaking at a public event? It always cheers me up. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 07:39, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
