At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Theoneinblack/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. There we are with the official welcome. You can that it is an official welcone because it,s neat and well presented, and has a whole bunch of stuff it it that a committee might think you need.

Now I want to point out the most important infornation sources to editing here. To get the thm, click edit.

Okay, below this text box is two major links. The Beginner's Guide and the How to be funny and not just stupid. The first is about the courtesy that we have for each other here. If you understand nettiquette then most of this will be obvious, and you are likely to get told what you're doing wrong when you do it. The first offence is usually forgivable.

The second guide is a bit of a style guide to comedy, and particularly parody and satire. It is the basis for a lot of our QC that we do here. It is a good resource to use when you just don't know wjat to do with yoy writing.

When you start to advance with thi you'll want to know certain things, such as how you post am image, and how did they get that wikipedia thing on so many places. Again your edit window is a wealth of knowledge, and beyond that there's guys like me - geeks - who are happy to discuss coding. Talk to me.

But back to the edit window, go to a page where you like how something is done. Cut and paste it elsewhere. Change some numbers around. Change some words. This is monkey see monkey do coding, the most effective wqy to learn how to code. In regards to writing, check out UN:BEST for all our featured articles.
