Regarding Tortoise and Spidersquirrel and stuff[edit source]
Firstly, hi. Consider yourself adopted. I put the shiny blue template on your userpage, and everything...
Secondly, compared to most folks here, your image manipulation skills seem quite good, judging by that image. Not saying that much, but at least you're willing to try, you know? And you're not using paint, either. Word of advice, though - if you use base images with more similar lighting, it will help immensely; there the spider has light shining through it, but the tail does not, you know? But if you seek others to make images for your articles, you can also just request them here, Zombiebaron'll probably oblige; he usually does. Or I might. Or someone else might. I dunno.
As for Tortoise and Spidersquirrell, while you've done a fairly decent job reorganising them and making them look like actual articles, the fact of the matter is, I suspect, that what they really need is something more along the lines of demolition. Much of what was and is there in both might as well be removed entirely, like what you moved to the Geography and History section in Tortoise - as far as I can tell, it's completely random. Under normal circumstances, random does not equal funny, so you might as well write up something more sensible to replace it entirely, and/or just focus on expanding other sections.
Another thing, though - what does the central joke of the article seem to be? If you can figure that out (although I admit, I couldn't with the Tortoise one; at least the spidersquirrell is more clear, being what it is) or if you come up with one, use it throughout the article. Hells, use it to guide the rewrite, at that, and the article will come out a lot more focussed, and probably a lot funnier, you know?
At any rate, good luck to you. I'd help more, but I'm lazy. That, and my time seems to have run out. ~ 20:40, 8 December, 2010
- Thanks for the advice and guidance :) I suspect I need to go back and work out what the actual essence of these articles are. I was trying to preserve a bit of what the previous contributors did, but maybe I need to unleash my ruthless streak, and try and impose my own agenda onto the articles...
- Maybe a couple of beers are needed before I attempt this task :)
- By the way, I am using GIMP for my Images... A tricky program to get the hang of, but at least it has a good undo feature.
- Thanks again for adopting me :) Stevetattoos 19:41, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. And yeah, a good idea in principle, that, especially if you want to stay on folks' good sides, but sometimes there just isn't that much worth keeping, you know?
- So the beers actually help you, eh? Lucky you... eh.
- Mmm, GIMP is a good one. I use it for a fair amount as well, and aye... the undo is glorious. But do enough, you'll get the hang of it - has some very good colour features. Don't be afraid to mess with the tool options; you can always reset them.
- Cheers. I may have to put out a note that more might be too many, though... hmm... dunno my capacity. o_O *has never really done this before* ~ 21:56, 8 December, 2010

Where'd you go, love? ~ 23:53, 29 December 2010
- I think it was a combination of work and an overdose of chocolate :)
- I shall start creating again once the New Year hangover has subsided....
- Thanks for checking up on me, and slapping my wrists for not crating any masterpieces recently ... Hehe Stevetattoos 19:41, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
- Ooo, there is life. Shame about the work, but I'm glad to hear the rest... so to speak. Read, really, but who says that? And put them through review and whatnot, and they may well become proper masterpieces.
- Also, don't forget to sign your name; even here, just less confusing that way. ~ 19:23, 30 December 2010
- Now I have to read the 'how to make a signature' article and come up with some wyrd expressive blobby thing, that is meant to convey the
entityentirititiyentirety of my being... :) Stevetattoos 19:39, December 30, 2010 (UTC) (Scurrying off to sign all my bits and bobs)- Sounds like fun... better than what I did, anyway, which was pretty much just use the first icony thing I found on my computer... and then pester a bunch of people for better directions... *shifty eyes* Whatever works, I guess... ~ 21:09, 30 December 2010
