UnNews:"One Nation" rally offers the antidote to a tea party[edit source]
Not a bad UnNews; I gave it the 1-spot on the Front Page because the shoop is today's best illustration. Based on news; reads like news, sort of. One comment: It would be better than the insult of saying "these people are insane lunatics" to use actual cleverness, such as poke at them that what they are chanting for is not what they want, is not what anyone else wants, or would go straight into their wallet. That they are simply insane, you could imagine Republicans saying--except that, for the moment, Republicans seem to be getting more mileage not saying anything at all.
I read the AP story on the One Nation march and had a brief notion to do a story making fun of the way AP was trying to pump this up and diss the Beck/Palin march--an UnNews that would make fun of media bias.

- Thanks for your praise! I didn't win that Foolizer Prize for nothing after all! God, it feels good to come back after a long vacation! Most of it was a parody of the flat-out silliness of the rally according to the article I found. That, and the really bizarre title of the real article that made me ask myself "WTF?" I always choose my parody UnNews by the titles and work from there. Seriously, though, those actual suggestions to the government were crap. Most of my complaints were taken to the point in the article, and I'm not going to repeat them. So, while I didn't really write it as a political satire to begin with, it's interesting to hear of what it eventually became as I wrote it. I'll shut up now. Sorry.
