Welcome[edit source]
Greetings and well met, Magdargi. Thank you for creating an account and giving me this wonderful opportunity to go through your refrigerator in search of quality mustard. Er, that is... I mean to say, welcome, and thank you for your contributions. I do hope you like it here and choose to stick around.
Now that you are here, these tend to be of use for folks like you:
- Beginner's Guide - a more thorough introduction.
- Our Vanity Policies - it's important that things also be funny to Lithuanians.
- How to be funny and not just stupid - this is kind of important.
These may also be of use:
- About Uncyclopedia
- The five pliers of Uncyclopedia
- How to get started editing on Uncyclopedia
- Help Pages
- The difference between quality and quantity
Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date and will help you avoid annoying some people needlessly.
At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Magdargi/Article regarding stuff) so you may edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done slap a construction template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
There are plenty of other things to do, of course. Often articles will require proofreading, among other fix ups, and for the more artistic of folks, there's the option of aiding articles that need more images and making them prettier, for instance.
If you need help or have questions, you may of course feel free to ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, ask on IRC, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is here to bring experienced editors straight to you. If you would like, I would be more than willing to adopt you, or you may leave a message on any other adopter's talkpage to join.
Again, welcome.
Couple other things[edit source]
I'm also glad to see you have taken an interest in reviewing. While for a first review I have definitely seen far worse, it wasn't exactly in-depth, however. The review guidelines can be a mite deceptive, so I'd suggest looking at some examples - these people tend to do good ones, and the likes of HELPME and Why? even have lists of their reviews on there. It may seem daunting, but I do hope you continue; I suspect you may come far.
Also, even if it's a red link, could you please sign with a link in your sig? You could make a userpage and have the link not be red, anyhow, but pretty please include a link? Pretty please with a muffin on top?
Anyway, as I said, welcome, and I do hope you like it here. ~ *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101205 - 12:56 (UTC)
Cake and stuff[edit source]
Hahah! Cake.
Anyhow, another thing - when you want to undo a string of revisions, instead of undoing each one-by-one, it's faster and adds less clutter to the revision history to just open up the history, open the revision to which you want to revert, hit edit and then save it, preferably with some revert comment in the edit summary, though I tend to go with variations on the word 'nuuurg', myself. I guess my point is, though, people don't actually care. It's just nicer to use relevant ones, but you probably already figured that out and I'm just rambling again... Cheers. ~ 18:55, 8 December, 2010
