Yes. Each is specialized. Compendiacs are writers that specialize in more Encyclopedia-style articles, and are authorized to do so. There are other specializations for writers, like proofreaders. ~

It was made kind of unclear by the fact that the staff page basically gives permission to all writers, including proofreaders, to directly write the articles. Marshal Uncyclopedian! Talk to me!
