Construction[edit source]

Hi there! I saw you start your Total Perspective Vortex article there. I've added on a proper construction tag, as what you put there was a red link and wouldn't have stopped a trigger happy admin doing the deletion tango. It should now be safe for 7 days now, giving you time to work on it and get it up to a decent standard. Good luck! --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | GUN | Natter | Uh oh | Pee 14:53, Apr 14 Thanks!--I Like Turtles 21:04, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Woah, slow down there! The construction tag, while useful, isn't there to allow you to go creating a bunch of unfinished articles in a row. Work on one until it's finished first! If you do want to create a bunch of new articles, create them in your Userspace (eg, User:I Like Turtles/Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster) then you can leave them there until you're ready to finish them with no fear of deletion (unless they're cyberbullying, but I digress). A couple of other points for you to consider:
  1. The Hitch Hiker's Guide is a funny book, but we try not to just repeat ideas from book on here - a quote or two, sure, but in general, an article should be your own take on the idea wherever possible. This isn't the Hitch Hiker's Guide wiki, we don't just want the jokes from the book again - we can find those elsewhere!
  2. Your style at the moment, looking at the Total Perspective Vortex article, tends to be a little random. Now, I'm not criticising you here, just giving you a friendly heads up - this kind of thing doesn't tend to do well on here, and may even get deleted (trust me, I've seen a lot of deletions in my time here). Have a good look through HTBFANJS to get tips on how to make the article funnier and less random. That page is not meant as an insult to say you're stupid, it's a collection of handy comedy writing tips used by the best authors on this site - you may find it handy!
Hope this helps you a little. Remember, I'm not trying to criticise you here, I'm trying to help - good luck! --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | GUN | Natter | Uh oh | Pee 12:47, Apr 17

Templates[edit source]

How do I create a template, such as Communist? --I Like Turtles 12:40, 17 April 2008 (UTC)I Like Turtles

Another tip: don't ask questions on your own talk page. Unless you're lucky, and someone's leaving a message like I was, or someone's keeping a close eye on you, no-one will notice it. See the "Village Dump" link on the left hand bar? There's a forum in there called "help". If you start a new forum topic in there, containing your question, it's your best chance of getting a sensible answer. --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | GUN | Natter | Uh oh | Pee 12:47, Apr 17
