Room 42 - UnNews Quality Control Central Clearing House[edit | edit source]
This be a place to deposit various disgustions and idears aboot UnNews Main Page Quality Control, a subject near and dear to my sphincter (as to which sphincter, I leave that to the readers imaginings).
Here concerned Uncyc users may discuss how to best manage, clean up, and improve UnNews. I and others have thought about an Editorial Section, for example. To start a discussion, I guess I'll say a little about how I do what I do. I grant that not every UnNews article is a gem, but I try to balance the flow of new articles against a somewhat rhythm. On a daily basis, with the exception of a few short periods, I try to rotate the lead stories so that at they are replaced once; more often if I think a story merits it.
As for deciding which story gets to be First, Second, or Third Lead, I go by things like the title, content, and pic. It is by no means a well thought out process, with an element of random human zim_ulator inputs. I am not making a statement of how I feel about a particular writer or story, but like the way I was taught that baseball was supposed' to be played when I was 10 or so, I try to give most storys some exposure so that "every kid gets to play in every game". Call me a Socialist if you like, but I think that anyone who wants to experience the feeling of being a complete git that comes from the public humiliation of having your UnNews article zim_ulated, deserves whatever evil befalls them. As a reverend, I feel justified in implementing the Wrath of God.
'Other Stuff -- I would love to have more folks doing UnNews audios. I say this in case some might feel humbled by my superior skills as a presenter, and do not dare to create an UnNews audio. Old shit articles should be cleared up, but I think I'm behind on that. That's about it, I think. Thanks for your anticipated response and monetary contributions to studiOzim. Cheers! Rev.
