  • Avoid typical time-travel clichés. I feel that The Time Machine is not so much about time travel (the time machine itself) as it is about human evolution (the Eloi and Morlocks).
  • Design a fictional chemical substance that could power the time machine.
  • The Eloi are highly neotenous and/or progenetic compared to present day humans, with correspondingly cute appearance and behavior, as well as weak bodies and minds. Therefore, they can be described as kawaii.
