At first the civilizations were always in peace, but In a fateful day a light appeared and the civilizations started to war. This all started when the darkness civilization started to Rape a nearby forest with worms, Then when they reached the inner part of the forest giants appeared and crushed them all. Then the water civilization decided to invade the fire civilization but all their soldiers evaporated when they reach land. Then the Light civilization who once did nothing decided to war with darkness because they realize that they can't sit back and do nothing otherwise they would be treated as dicks. Then the apocalypse began.

What Actually Happened

While the big super rare/Very Rare creatures are popular among kids, they have virtually no effects aside of breaking additional shields. Therefore, They were quickly dismissed as shite because power is irrelevant since even you have like 99999999 power you are going to be owned by a Terror Pit anyway at the next turn. Dragons are considered the worst kind of creature despite how the anime wants the players to think. In fact in that time "Dragon Decks" are basically the same as "Shite". And due to all the big guns being Retards, the game is basically a babyfight with babies fighting babies. Then something happened.

DM-04 was released, and while the flagship was Alcadeias Who has 12500 power and prevented your opponent from casting non-light spells and Ballom who has 12000 power and destroyed all non-darkness creatures and thus owning the unprepared opponent with style, it's not the main thing that the players feared. What they actually fear is actually "Astral Reef", a 2 mana 4000 power evolution creature (Which means it can attack instantly, Same as Alcadeias and Ballom) that drawed 3 cards. Due to Takara Tomy underestimating the power of a 3 card draw, it was made super cheap and draw decks owned the metagame with style. Therefore, the god of the metagame regins to one humble name: "ASTRAL REEF".

That's not all; A card named "Aquan" enabled the player to reveal 5 cards from the top of their deck and put all the Light and Darkness cards into their hand. This basically sums up as a 5-card draw in a light and darkness deck and it along with astral reef broke the game with style. And since TT is still oblivious to how powerful draw can be, Most people try to get as many cards in their hand as possible and play with more options. Nevertheless, It's still ridden with baby-sized creatures.

This ended up with wizards nerfing Astral Reef and Aquan when they are about to translate the cards to English.

The Fifth set introduced survivors but they did nothing. There were also creatures with Over 9000 power and broke 3 shields, and one of them, "Billion-Drgree Dragon" even had 15000 power and was the strongest creature in the game until 2 years later. But since they are fucking huge and power is irrelevant, it going down after a terror pit anyway. The end result teaches us Small of FUCKING HUGE, it's basically the same unless you have some sort of kickass effect. And that's an afterstory.

Notable Cards

• Urth, Purifying Elemental: The largest creature in DM-01's metagame as all the other big guys are shite for being slow as hell. Untapped itself at the end of the turn and thus more difficult to stop than anything that is large at the time.
• Bolshack Dragon: Grade A trash who kids use and get owned.
• Terror Pit: Death himself. Destroys kids who think their creatures with over 9000 power own everything.
• Emeral: Switched shield for 2 mana so you can place a terror pit or holy awe to own your opponent. Was banned to only 1 copy due to it costing only 2 mana.
• Astral Reef: Takes only two turns to descend when you consider the 1 drop evolution bait and lets the player draw 3 cards. Also has 4000 power and is virtually impossible to stop at that time. Was later banned to only 1 copy.
• Aquan: Basically sums up as "Draw 5 cards". Was banned completely later on.
• Billion-Degree Dragon: The strongest creature at that time, he still gets owned in one turn by terror pit and is fucking slow.
• Ghastly Drain: Drained all your shields. while considered shit when it first came out, is used in over 10000 combo decks later on and was banned to only 1 copy.
