Norton antiHumour is a programme that was released as part of the 2007 update to Norton internet security, a programme developed by symnatec security. It is well known for its excellent ability to discover possible attacks on good ol' fashioned comedy to the computer's hyperhumoursensitive user, yet the complete inability to take action, other than to alert the user. This key fact has caused many users to resort to cursing, hitting and eventual suicide. Because of this, it is an unpopular programme outside of a core group of fans
History[edit | edit source]
The need for a computer that was able to block humour first aroused in early 2005. The rise of parody and satire sites during this time gave way to many complaints from the clients of symnatec. This caused a group of key employees to begin work on Norton antihumour. Work on this took two years because of the somewhat apathetic nature of the employees.
Development[edit | edit source]
The developing stage of this product increased as the the same rate of the rise of satire. As soon as norton antiHumour had reached a stage ready to be released, it was outdated by the large and fledging community of humour. Because of this, it has never been in a completed state, and will always require updates to keep it at the poor performance rate it already has.
Usage[edit | edit source]
The programme is considered very popular, with it being a mandatory update for all computers equipped with Symnatec products. Despite this, it is rarely used, due to its poor ability to actually do anything about poor, rubbish and annoying humour. This has caused the product to be increasingly despised and the butt of jokes on the humour site it intends to block.
