She has very powerful magic but failed to win Väinämöinen, because he is real hero.

Features[edit | edit source]

Karelian people are always very strong and righteous, but Pohjola(North) is devil like North Korea, so north country are all devil, but Finland is Nordic too. Pohjola is devil if they do not anything or do the justifiable revenge, but hero of the Karelia are very good person if they kill other person or steal very important thing like Sampo.

Other features of this folklore is the very good heroes of Karelia are fall in love with daughter of evil Pohjola, sounds like angel falls love with devil and goes to the hell to get the woman.

Effects[edit | edit source]

Kalevala gave great effect to Finland. Finland was ruled by Russia at that time, so they read this book and raised the skill to kill Russia. Jean Sibelius translated these magical song to music and submitted this assignment to Finnish so that all Russian can asleep when the war occurs. Performing these song was prohibited and they took Karelia after the World War II because they felt threatened by Kalevala.

One of the effects of this book is sleeping pills. In Finland school, they must learn the Kalevala to threat other countries such as Russia and Sweden, but it's really boring. The Kalevala is so thick that can use it to not only pill but also pillow.
