In case anyone is interested, "fek" means "shit" in Esperanto. Bet you didn't know that...

As it happens, the word exists in English too. It derives from Northern English and Scots dialect for 'effect,' and is still used in some parts of Scotland apparently. It seems to have slipped out of usage, but has left us with the related term 'feckless.' Fascinating stuff, eh? Could be a good one to remember for Scrabble though.   • Feck originates in Ireland. It used to mean to steal but is now just consider something rude, but not vulgar or offensive.
