UnNews:Greece 'should have been invaded by now'
Tuesday, March 24, 2015
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed impatience at Greece's economic crisis, noting, "In the good old days, they would have been invaded by now."
The comments came as Merkel met Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras amid fears that Athens might actually run out of money. Tsipras began the meeting confidently, but faltered after Merkel showed him a colourful worksheet on borrowing and lending, designed for school children.
"Like most left-wingers, he is all mouth and no trousers,"[1] Merkel continued. "He got elected promising to stand up to Greece's debtors, but I explained that if he fails to pay up, I will send a big fella round his house to break his legs.
"And that's getting off lightly. Some of my predecessors would have been skull-fucking statues of Athena at this stage."
