You rest in a small, dying town called Whale Pass, with a population of only 31. Nice place to sleep in, when the night eventually comes around.

The thing is, after you'd woken up the next day, it seemed that all 31 of the town's inhabitants had left. You've just witnessed the creation of a ghost town.
