You remind the lighthouse that it's infused with Luna's soul, and that it can do better than just blindly sinking to the bottom of the sea. Upon hearing this, it suddenly lifts itself back up onto the island and separates itself from the spirit of Luna. So you're fighting Luna instead, which probably wasn't ideal.
She also gets to make the first move, so she turns you into a big immobile blob and makes you immortal. Great.
Anyway, you're stuck like this forever. Luckily, you're also getting a chance to respawn because this is probably the worst way to end your journey, and we actually want you to get to Ketchikan alive.[citation needed]
