Future of this template[edit source]
Shouldn't this be replaced with a template like {{Mass Media}}, seeing how this wiki has at least a dozen articles on YouTubers? Norb (talk) 18:12, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Having an entire template dedicated to listing said dozen different YouTubers doesn't seem that important.
- @Alula: The Spanish Uncyclopedia (Inciclopedia) does have a template on YouTube, although they do have way more articles on YouTube than the English Uncyclopedia has. I think that all YouTubers should just be put in Template:Internet culture, without making a new template specific for them. πππDaniPine3 (talk)πππ 18:40, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think they necessarily need to be linked from some template to begin with (unless they have something to do with the subject of the template obviously). A "YouTuber" can mean so many different things that grouping them all in one template wouldn't work.
- @alula: eh, isn't a YouTuber just someone who films themselves screaming at a microphone and then uploads it on YouTube to get money for doing virtually nothing? what else is there to the definition of a "YouTuber"? πππDaniPine3 (talk)πππ 19:01, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- No? 19:03, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @alula: then what is a YouTuber? πππDaniPine3 (talk)πππ 19:10, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @DaniPine3: Well, some of them film themselves playing games, some of them film themselves watching people film themselves, and some of them even film themselves watching people film themselves watching people film themselves watching people film themselves playing games. Norb (talk) 19:16, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Norb: but the result is always the same: they scream at the microphone, they film it, and then they get millions of views for it. so I wasn't that wrong in my descritpion. πππDaniPine3 (talk)πππ 19:23, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- That's probably the biggest overgeneralization i've ever seen. Being a YouTuber doesn't require filming yourself, screaming into the microphone, or anything similar. It's literally just posting videos onto YouTube. Literally anyone could wake up and become a YouTuber. 19:27, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @DaniPine3: Really? I didn't actually mean that... Norb (talk) 19:33, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
