I just realized the fallacy of this law! When the cat lands on its feet, the buttered side will automatically be up, completely negating any antigravity that might've otherwise be produced. One would actually have to put the buttered side onto the cat's back, in order to produce antigravity. The cat might not like its back being smothered in butter though.
