Some suggestions:

  • Queen of Dutchland
  • Long distance runner ( a novel by Salinger) And it was a short story by Allan Sillitoe
  • Heart (owner of a lonely ..., a song by Yes)
  • Being Michael Jackson, of course

Perhaps I'll do one or two of these --di Mario 09:03, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Haha yes, all good suggestions. Feel free to write any of them, as long as they follow something of the style and fit in with the others I'll be more than happy:) - jack mort | cunt | talkKodamaIcon.jpg - - 19:23, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, I started. Messed a bit with the Tracies, not much inspiration there I'm afraid. And added the long distance runner. I actually researched it, so the facts and names should be correct, only the movie is of course totally completely different. As for keeping to your style: I'm afraid I get carried away a bit now and then, I tend to make long, complicated sentences. Feel free to straighten it out. --di Mario 20:55, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Later the same night: I found this image of MichelinMan for the long-distance runner. Not ideal, but the imgs I found on the Interweb are presumably all copyrighted. --di Mario 21:34, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
I polished the text in numbers one and two, my impression is that it is less of a bumpy ride now. --di Mario 19:26, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
copywrite? what's that? :P you've done fantastic work, the sections you wrote are all superior to my original bits - Jack Mort | TALK | MUN | F@H - 15:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Monarch of the Low Lands By the Northern Sea[edit source]

I added it while experiencing a nice buzz in the frontal lobe. Probably the argumentation is not really one hundred percent cohaerent (but who cares ? this is Uncyc). Probably needs some cleaning up language-wise, especially seeing that this section is the first that others will read after the introduction. If you would be as kind as to take care of that ? And once gain, I researched the facts so they should withstand scrutiny. The links all work. And the picture for this #chapter is of Sylvia Thòth, a well-known and very wealthy Dutch CEO and general busybody. There is an article about her here. --di Mario 22:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Correction, I botched up the exernal links. They should work now. Anyway, they point to (amongst others) a Dutch version of Wikipaedia so it should be just gibberish to you. --di Mario 22:15, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Correction, the article for Sylvia Tòth is here --di Mario 11:44, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
The language in it all seems pretty good, i'll attempt a rejig anyway, see what happens - Jack Mort | TALK | MUN | F@H - 15:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

lighthouse keeper[edit source]

Perhaps you folks were a little too quick to disqualify lighthouse keeper as the loneliest job. You claim there are none left; the Wikipædia parody of this article asserts that "In 1995, the Canadian Coast Guard dramatically reduced the number of manned lighthouses on the Atlantic coast as a cost-saving measure. Today, all lighthouses in Eastern Canada except for the station on Machias Seal Island are unmanned. The Machias Seal Island light had been automated several years prior to the announcement, however Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs is now covering the Canadian Coast Guard's costs to maintain lightkeepers on Machias Seal Island 'for sovereignty purposes.'"

There only being one left could well qualify it as the 'loneliest job', eh? --Carlb 17:13, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Ahhh yes, I think I must've heard somewhere that there were no manned lighthomes left in britain and just remembered it wrongly. I think I'll put that the seal island one is disqualified or something, cos it's run by seals :| otherwise the tracy's might be shifted down - jack mort | cunt | talkKodamaIcon.jpg - - 19:23, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

/* ten out of ten */[edit source]

Job completed. I added number eight, being a cryptical figure probably female ( no not me - I was drunk at the time) So make of it what you must. You now have ten lonely jobs, and get this article over to VFH or whatsit called. --di Mario 18:00, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, we should colaborate more often. gotta find a stooge to nom it for vfh, self noms are never recieved well - Jack Mort | TALK | MUN | F@H - 15:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

NOOOOO! HOLD IT! Number five is awol! Now where did it go ? --di Mario 19:35, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah i didn't originally think of doing ten the scores were just scores, it does seem mad to have nine though, i've been trying to think of one for 5 but i'm currently a bit stumped. - Jack Mort | TALK | MUN | F@H - 15:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
