Thanks so much[edit source]
Thank you so much. I have gotten the help of another user Shabidoo --Data Devourer (talk) 22:56, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Hey[edit source]
I've made a few changes to the first couple sentences. First of all, it is often better to replace words like "lame" or "pathetic" with something more subtle or unexpected like "forgettable" or "bland". While in exceptional cases words like "stupid" or "retarded" can work, it usually only does when that is all the article is about or it is so over the top and well done it is hilarious. Otherwise I'd suggest going with more subtlety, the unexpected or deadpan style.
In the second sentence, I extended the whole release date to the extreme. I took it to an absurd level and played with it three times (commedy often comes in threes).
I also removed references to other games and who prefers certain games. I can tell you I don't personally understand references about specific games because I and many many other people have never heard of them. Unless you want your audience to only consist of those who know all those games, I'd avoid such references. Stick to either super famous games or just stick to the very game you are talking about.
Having an over all concept on your article also helps. What is it? It is just a description about how stupid the game is? Are you going to do a biography of the game? Are you relating it to something else? Maybe you can paralel the game with some contemporary phenomena like a recent tech innovation such as twitter turning into x and becoming terrible. Or how steam has a massive monopoly on gaming. That's just one option. You can go for just a simple article about how stupid a game is. In that case though, consider variety and truly making the game sound cataclysmically terrible, while the makers of the game thought it was something awesome. That adds dimension.
Finally, always good to know why you are writing the article. Do you want to lampoon your subject? Are you trying to improve your writing? Do you want to get something featured one day? Do you want to seem clever? Is it some or all of the above? Knowing why you are writing something and what the concept of the article is really helps give it direction, consistency, a voice and usually makes it more funny.
Feel free to undo any changes I made and let me know what you think about them and what I've said above. Nice first draft though :) ShabiDOO 18:38, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
