From Pee Review[edit source]
Probably not my best article so far, but I wanted to try and put one up for Pee Review and this article seemed thematically the most accessable/comprehensible (unless you still snigger when you hear someone say Youranus, in which case I probably made a somewhat too optimistic judgement of our esteemed critics here gathered...). Please feel free to constructively burn it to the ground and make me waste a free weekend. -Dutchy 15:25, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Humour: | 6 | This is generally funny, but a few things get in the way of true hilarity. Try to aviod focusing too much on the politics and history, give some more attention to the herb itself. You've got a great start with "the leaves and flower buds need to be collected as soon as they turn tablet-shaped." I think the Wikipedia article on Peppermint should give you some extra joke material. |
Concept: | 9 | The concept of peppermint as a mind-altering psuedodrug that promotes capitalism is suitably amusing, try bolstering it with references to The Free World and similar pro-capitalistic propaganda. Still, avoid rambling too much about politics. Nice, clear, concise jokes (much like the ones you've already written) will do just fine. |
Prose and formatting: | 7 | There's at least one joke per paragraph, and that's a good thing. Try adding footnotes and references using the <ref> tag. |
Images: | 5 | A little lacking in this department, but the ones you have are good. Should have at least one picture of the plant itself (it might be funny to have an image of a plant tht is clearly not peppermint, in keeping with our general theme of misinformation). |
Miscellaneous: | 0 | |
Final Score: | 27 | Better than anything I have ever written, but get rid of at least three of those quotes at the top of the page. Sorry, but quotes are more of a distraction than anything else. |
