Lexicon

Moé: Protective nurturing love, such as one might feel for a younger brother, directed at a metal musician.
Moékko: A musician who inspires such feelings; a musician with moé features.
Moé features: Features (visually, and in personality) that inspire feelings of moé. Include, among other things, childlike innocence, pre-pubescent (or "girly") body type, and large expressive eyes.
Moécon: A fan, usually female, who appreciates the moé aesthetic; a fan who is moved by moé features.
X-kko-moé: A moékko defined primarily by the X moé feature; A moékko defined primarily by the X feature even if X is not generally considered moé.
Oniisama: (lit. big brother) a metal musician, usually a band mate, who acts like an older brother to a moékko. Often both protector (especially from sources outside the band), and tormentor (within the band) of the moékko.
Tsundere: A hard outer shell concealing a soft gooey center.
Groupieism: The desire to sleep with musicians. Not to be confused with moé.
Moé fetishism: The desire to sleep with moékko. Not to be confused with moé or groupieism.
Uke / Seme: Bottom / Top (but with more romantic connotations.)
Moé Metal, Glam Metal: A band formed of only moékko, often fetishized.
Moé-harem: A band formed of one oniisama and multiple moékko.

Once again, an unfinished article I'm looking for feedback on even though I know where I'm going with it. It's a mental block or something. I can't write unless I know this is here.

Mostly, what I ask of you, the peereviewer, is if you have any favorite particularly cute metal musicians that I might be able to use for the article.

• Let me ask a stupid question. Is this an actual phenomenon? I see the effort that went into the article, but to be frank I'm kind of stuck on whether this is satire or imagination. (Full disclosure: I am also intensely stupid.)--Procopius 04:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Moé is an actual term in anime and video games that means essentially what I say it means (Wiki, though I disagree with their definition a bit). I'd say the phenomenon of it happening to metal musicians is probably unique to me, because I'm messed up that way. I've been going "OH MY GOD HE'S SO CUTE!" at David Ellefson for years, and after watching Metalocalypse recently, I realized this reaction is exactly what moé is. --monika 05:12, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, I make direct reference to Nevada-tan and Rei, two popular moekko, with Varg and Rick, though their stories are also true (although I did have to edit the arm out of an image of Rick taken before he lost his arm to get the desired effect.) --monika 05:19, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

OK. Well, then, I'm probably not the audience for the article.  :) I would try to get an explicit definition higher in the article. The first graf does allude to it, but I was kind of lost otherwise. Again, though, I don't really read anime, so maybe the joke is lost upon me. But I appreciate the work that went into this; if you make it more understandable for generalists, I could maybe be more helpful about it.--Procopius 11:47, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Maybe it's because moé is kind of foreign concept to me (no pun intended). Just seeing moékko out of nowhere confuses me, because I don't know the original source of the word before the satire kicks in. Again, it's nothing about the quality of the article, just my ignorance of the concept. You might have to hold my hand longer than others.  :)--Procopius 16:23, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Spelling

Changed from moé to moë. Both are non-standard (since "moe" is understood by people who know the word to be two syllables) but moé is often used to force the two syllabe issue.

From wikipedia, "Occasionally English employs a diaeresis to indicate that two vowels are to be pronounced separately, as in the name 'Chloë' or the word 'naïve'." and it's also far more metal than the accent. Does it work?

What to do about Varg...

So earlier, I found some red links in black metal that were supposed to link to Varg and didn't because they were made wrong. I fixed them to point directly to Moë#Criminalkko-moë (The naughty type), the part of my article about Varg. Later, I went back and searched to see if there were any more red links that could be fixed this way, and discovered that Varg Vikernes already exists as an article, one that the writer admits is crap, apparently. (I didn't notice this when writing my article, because I kind of forgot to check, and just made Varg point to an article on Nevada-tan instead.) Before I knew the article existed, I was considering making it a redirect page to that part of the article if there were enough red links to justify it. (There are 11 linked articles and 20 articles that mention him), but now I'm torn. Opinions? --monika 03:24, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
