Funny stuff --Savethemooses 15:04, 16 Mar 2005 (EST)

I posted the picture =) --Nytrospawn 15:07, 16 Mar 2005 (EST)

This whole thing is dumb. There's nothing wrong with made-up stuff, so long as it at least serves some purpose (like the list of Detroit attractions that includes "Abandoned building on 8 Mile Road," etc.). The article itself, just like most of the articles here, contains no broader point -- there's no satirical or ironic element to it. It doesn't SAY anything. Without some meaningful backdrop or context, it's just a bunch of gobbledygook that's too boring to read past the first paragraph.

The whole faux intro
Detroit
Whoops! Maybe you were looking for Windsor, Ontario?
is pretty damned funny.

As a person who has “enjoyed” Detroit and also enjoys a certain degree of brain power, I would rate this article as very funny. --KP CUN 08:43, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Businesses in Detroit[edit source]

Is Northwest Airlines the only powerful business in the Detroit area?

There are lot of unemployed people in Detroit!

^ Northwest Airlines is in deep shyte, going down with the Chrysler, GM and Ford. I think that says there is no business in Detroit! lol. 134.121.247.116 23:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Ouch...[edit source]

I had to check this out after Detroit's mention in Kentuckistan Fried Movie. What an awful article. There are redeeming features though such as the attractions list. I might try to pretty it up at some point, I rather like rescuing articles.

Other version[edit source]

I just rewrote this article, and it got reverted. Honestly, can someone tell me if it's not actually better? Because this artivle pretty much sucks. Frankly, I put a lot of work into writing a quality article, and it was reverted to this piece of garbage. Honestle, I think this article deserves to be completely rewritten, and if anyone agrees, please keep my version. -Blackhawk003

Heh... I read your rewrite -- it sucked even more than what you replaced. Akulkis 09:04, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

lulz[edit source]

As someone who lives in southeastern Michigan, I have to say that you have to laugh at Detroit or else you'll scream. I would take issue with the People's Republic of Ann Arbor and Ypsitucky being 'burbs if only because they're a good forty miles away.

But for the rest of the world, who (unlike us) don't live near Detroit, A^2 and Ypsi are suburbs of Detroit. Jackson and Flint would not be considered suburbs. Akulkis 09:05, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Why the lockdown on editing this article?[edit source]

Hey, I was born, raised, educated, and continue to live and work in Detroit, and I know the difference between funny and racist. So how come I can't edit this article? Some of it is very funny, some is just racist crap.

This website says it is " the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." I'd like to do some editing. After all, "stupid is not the same as funny," and this article has way too much stupid in it and nowhere near enough funny.

Museum of note[edit source]

Isn't there a Museum of Rusty Engine Blocks Pilfered from Defunct GM Factories somewhere in Detroit? Shouldn't this be mentioned somewhere in this article?
