Talk:Black Hole of Calcutta
From Pee Review
OK, this foul scrap of cow crud is in need of a swift kick in the hinder parts. Specifically, is it too goddam pretentious, or just stupid? Hmmm?----OEJ 03:40, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, parts of this are really quite funny (specifically the bit about redecorating the bathroom causing the british to be outraged would have made me squirt drink out of my nose had I been drinking anything) and the silliness is actually quite amusing, but possibly the humour towards the end errs a little too much towards the random... could do with being made a little more coherent, and also some of the quantum physics references are, though funny, probably a little too esoteric. --Jamtrousers 12:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
It's gnarly and funky enough for me, but will today's MTV-enammelled audiences go for it? I like the structure - the story/interlude repitition brings forth
juniper berries mirth. I'd lose "Intersting Facts" because ending on "'Nuff said" packs a wallop.
The roller-coaster intensity of the delivery does indeed add to the silliness. It looks like you've worked hard to inject funny into, not only every sentence, but every word. I wonder if it might gain more from slowing up some of the sentences with more mediocraty, thereby allowing the sillyness to explode like a balloon on the end of a stick, rather than to crackle like a weasel caught in a plug socket? I'm sure you know what I mean here.
Thanks much to you both. I'll rewrite the interludes to be less confusing (and I'll lose the stupid pun about Britney's titulars.) Fundlebuggy, it sounds like a good plan, go for it. (I won't garner praise from the Beavis-'n-Butthead set. I will choose my target audience and, carefully and with forethought, shoot myself in the foot.) ----OEJ 00:31, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
