Kalimantan or Indonesian Borneo is a region part of Borneo island claimed and controlled by Indonesia. This region is still very fertile and beautiful, ancient creatures and people who have been untouched for thousands of years are something you will not find anywhere else.

History[edit | edit source]

Controlled by dinosaurs[edit | edit source]

This area was originally separated from the Great Sunda plain and formed its own island. Because it is quite far from the Gulf of Mexico, the meteor that wiped out ancient life 65 million years ago seems to have forgotten to wipe out life on this island. So, until now Kalimantan still has dinosaurs and ancient animals that forgot to evolve.

First humans[edit | edit source]

The Valkyrie race, a race tasked with guarding the Schwaner mountains.
The elves pay tribute to Sultan Sulaiman of Banjar, from the manuscript of the Hikayat Urang Banjar.

After Adam and Eve came down to Earth because they were kicked and banned by God from Heaven, one of their descendants named Wawan the Ancestor sailed the ocean until he arrived in Kalimantan. Wawan was very surprised to see dinosaurs that were said to be extinct were still alive. However, Wawan and his family survived all kinds of trials and his descendants spread to all corners of Kalimantan.

Even so, Wawan still did not dare to go directly to the center of the island, because there were many fierce and savage creatures there. In 2020 BC, a descendant of Wawan named Sindadir went to the middle of the forest because he had an emergency to defecate, he then met a beautiful woman whose father turned out to be Archaeopteryx and her mother was human, looking like a hairy and winged lizard-man. Sindadir fell in love with her, then from them were born the Elves, Valkyries, and Dryards.

The World Tree, called Edan Kaharingan (Branch of Life) by the native people of Kalimantan.

The Dryards took on the task of guarding the World Tree, while the Elves took on the task of guarding the rainforest, and the Valkyries took on the task of guarding the Schwaner Mountains from the beasts of darkness.

Meanwhile, Wawan's descendants also migrated to various places in Kalimantan. They migrated to the West and became the Sambas tribe, they migrated to the East and became the Kutai tribe, they migrated to the North and became the Sabah tribe, they migrated to the southeast and became the Banjar tribe.

Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic Era[edit | edit source]

In the Hindu-Buddhist Era, there lived a man named Kudungga, he then founded the Kutai Martapura Kingdom, one of the oldest and first Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms in Indonesia. His power was continued by his sons, Asvavarman and Mulavarman. There was also the State of Dipa in Southeast Kalimantan, which was founded with Hindu-Buddhist characteristics.

After the decline of these two countries, Islam began to take over, Allahu Akbar! The followers of Allah's True Prophet Muhammad soon took control of the location and established Islamic Sultanates such as Banjar and Kutai. After that, according to Emperor Sukarno of Indonesia, Kalimantan was colonized by the Dutch for 350 years.

Now[edit | edit source]

After the Revolution, Indonesia took over Kalimantan and developed it, Although this development did not run smoothly because of the existence of oligarchies and small political monarchies in each region. In 2019, Emperor Jokowi of Indonesia decided to move the capital of Indonesia to Capital City of Nusantara in Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, in other places, there are also cities that are called "ghostly" because they cannot be identified but are recorded historically. According to historical records, Wawan's children were married to ghosts, giving birth to "Bunian people" (half-ghost humans), who later founded Municipality of Padang 12, State of Saranjana, and Kalap.

Life in Kalimantan[edit | edit source]

The condition of Kalimantan from the top of the Schwaner mountains as depicted by Thomas Stamford Raffles.

When we have used motorbikes or cars, the people of Kalimantan use dinosaurs as personal vehicles and also to pull carts. The people of Kalimantan are also accustomed to going in and out of the forest and have adapted to the ancient plants that only exist in Kalimantan. Sights such as T-rexes being used as log pullers or Compsognathus as house pets are common in Kalimantan.

You will also find a Pithecanthropus erectus wearing clothes and walking around the city as a common sight. There are also elves who come out of the forest or Valkyries who come down from the mountains to pay tribute to the local government. People would come out armed with armor and swords and children would aspire to be great adventurers and knights.

Items and weapons made by Dwarves and Homo floresiensises will always be of high quality. Glowing gems that store magical energy, quests to hunt undefeated monsters and dinosaurs, explorations into dragon nests, and people dressed in medieval style are commonplace, new adventures will always await you in Kalimantan.
