Adobe Photoshop has changed the way photographers and artists make their stuff. Work that used to be done by hand can now be done with computers! With a small expense and a little effort you can use Photoshop to make a snow globe to send your friends at Christmas.

What you need[edit | edit source]

You will have to buy a few items before you can start, but when you email your finished snow globe to your friends it will be worth the effort.

  • A digital SLR camera (from $350 to $600 for a good basic model, but for the best results I recommend an 18 megapixel camera which runs around $1500).
  • A 12800 dpi scanner (these run from $900 to $2000 although I have seen them cheaper on eBay).
  • An Apple MacPro 12 Core computer with ATI graphics and 4 513gb solid state drives (these run around $4000, which is a bargain).
  • A snow globe (these run from $5 to $100 depending on the quality).
  • Don't forget the most recent version of Photoshop Extended with 3D features.

How to make your snow globe[edit | edit source]

  1. Using your SLR, take a dozen shots of your snow globe from different angles.
  2. Preview the shots to select the one that looks the best.
  3. Send a digital file of your image to a professional printer and request a high quality glossy print on at least 100 pound paper. (If you use a lower quality print, your snow globe won't look too good).
  4. Scan the print into Photoshop.
  5. Do Photoshop stuff to make your snow globe look really cool.
  6. Save your file. It doesn't matter what format. Who really pays attention to the technical stuff?
  7. Your snow globe is ready. Email it to your friends as a Christmas card, or just for fun to show what you can do.

Superflous section heading included to create a table of contents[edit | edit source]

There's really nothing to read because this was just a superflous section heading included to create a table of contents.

Another Superfluous section heading included to create a table of contents[edit | edit source]

Except that this time superfluous is spelled correctly.
