I'm bored,me to, so for the sake of argument: I think that sporking should be discouraged. We have lots of users now, and lots of good ideas. Why do we need to copy and paste from other places when we have some very funny people. I understand that sporking doesn't just involve copy and pasting, but also changing some words around. Still, I am sure we can do better. I say we gradually get rid of sporked articles in favor of actually using our brains to write funny stuff. (I am guilty of sporking an article or two myself, but I am still not satisfied with those articles) --Paulgb Talk 14:50, 1 May 2005 (EDT)

Is sporking legal?[edit source]

As far as I can tell, wikipedia and uncyclopedia have incompatible licenses. Wouldn't verbatim copying from one to the other result in you being eaten by a GNU? Andjam 12:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but sporked articles aren't verbatim. Nounatim or adjectim, maybe, but not verbatim. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 12:19, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Even with Wikipedia's transition to Creative Commons, they're going with an incompatible CC license from ours. Might be trouble. --Bluu 16:46, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
