Arachnophobia
“AAAAAH A SPIDER”
– Guy with Arachnophobia
Arachnophobia Name Origin[edit | edit source]
Arachnophobia is the fear of spiders, but why is it called Arachnophobia? The Latin term for spider is aranea, which doesn't make much sense. The arthropod class spiders are in is called arachnid, which is the root of Arachnophobia.
Why do Spiders Scare us?[edit | edit source]
There are many reasons why a spider will make you solid your britches. Firstly, bugs are scary in general. One time, I saw a cockroach in my bathtub and it mentally scarred me because cockroaches are gross and will eat poop. Secondly, spiders are very menacing with their 8 legs and mandibles that are sometimes able to deliver a poison. Thirdly, spiders are just menacing in general.
Types of Spiders[edit | edit source]
Spiders come in many shapes and sizes. Some have a big butt, others have a measly small butt, some are lanky, others are stubby. Either way they are scary to many. There are many species of spiders like Black Widows, Orb Weavers, Trapdoor Spiders, and Huntsman Spiders. There are many more but I can't list them all.
Australia[edit | edit source]
Australia is a country in Oceania that has too many oversized spiders. In fact, all of Hollow Knight & Silksong take place under an Australian's couch. Kangaroos are the main predator of spiders in Australia, but spiders are the main predator of kangaroos in Australia. Kangaroo eats the small spider, big spider eats the kangaroo.
Diet of a Spider[edit | edit source]
The diet of the typical spider includes flies that get trapped in their web, preemie babies, kangaroos, bugs in general, small birds, & Honda Civics. If you get on the wrong side of a spider, expect to be attacked by a barrage of hand grenades. The baby eating makes us more scared of them.
